“The Tale of Genji” (“Genji-monogatari”), the greatest monument of Japanese and world literature, was created at the turn of the 10th-11th centuries, during the era of the formation and rapid flowering of Japanese culture. Its author is a court lady known as Murasaki Shikibu. The monument is being published in Russian translation for the first time - in five books. The first four books include 54 chapters of the Tale. In the fifth, reference book - “Appendix” - in addition to an extensive research article and a set of five lines quoted in the “Tale” from old poetic anthologies, there are diagrams, tables, drawings that will help readers navigate the complex world of this work.

Неперевершений шедевр японської літератури

«Повість про Гендзі» - це не просто книга, а справжня подорож у часі, яка занурює читача в епоху Х-ХІ століття, коли японська культура переживала свій розквіт. Мурасакі Сікібу створила неперевершений твір, який вражає своєю глибиною, емоційністю та складністю персонажів. Кожен розділ відкриває нові грані життя Гендзі, його стосунків та переживань, що робить читання захоплюючим і незабутнім. Хоча переклад може містити деякі неточності, загальна якість тексту дозволяє насолодитися цим класичним твором. Додаткові матеріали у п'ятій книзі допомагають краще зрозуміти контекст та культурні особливості, що робить цю книгу ще більш цінною для читачів, які прагнуть зануритися в японську культуру.
