The world-famous chivalric poem by Torquato Tasso (1544–1595), dedicated to the events of the First Crusade, which ended with the capture of Jerusalem (1099). In Russia, Batyushkov and Zhukovsky read this undeniable masterpiece, and Pushkin highly valued it. The grandiose monument of the late Renaissance is published in a new translation by Roman Dubrovkin, made in rhymed octaves in compliance with the stylistic features of the Italian original. In his work, the translator relied on the text of the poem, verified from manuscripts, which was inaccessible to his predecessors. For the first time in three centuries, the famous epic appears before the Russian reader without distortion and leveling caused by the intervention of church and secular censorship. A fascinating story full of battle scenes, sharp plot twists, love affairs, witchcraft, miracles and entertaining adventures.

Велична епопея, що вражає своєю глибиною та красою!

"Звільнений Єрусалим" - це справжній шедевр, який переносить читача в епоху Першого хрестового походу, сповнену героїзму, зради, любові та магії. Переклад Романа Дубровкіна вражає своєю точністю та вірністю оригіналу, що дозволяє відчути всю палітру емоцій, які передав Торквато Тассо. Кожна сторінка насичена батальними сценами, які буквально оживають у свідомості, а любовні інтриги та чаклунство додають сюжету динаміки та захоплення. Хоча в деяких місцях можна помітити недоліки в перекладі, це не заважає насолоджуватися цією грандіозною поемою. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто цінує класичну літературу та хоче зануритися в епоху лицарських подвигів і романтичних пригод. Це не просто книга, а справжня подорож у часі!
