In 1936, on the task of socialistic book club, Оруэлл sets forth for the industrial depths of Yorkshire and Lancashire in an order in place to become familiar with matter-position on miner's north of England. Вражаюча та важлива книга про соціальну справедливість

"Дорога на Уиган-пірс" - це не просто документальна повість, а справжній крик душі, який змушує задуматися про умови життя та праці простих людей. Орвелл, використовуючи свої спостереження, майстерно малює картину жахливих умов, в яких живуть шахтарі, та показує, як система експлуатує їх. Його аналіз причин, чому бідні люди обирають не найкращі продукти, є надзвичайно глибоким і актуальним. Книга не лише відкриває очі на соціальні проблеми 1930-х років, але й залишається надзвичайно актуальною в наш час, коли питання соціальної справедливості і людяності знову виходять на перший план. Хоча переклад може мати деякі недоліки, зміст книги настільки потужний, що він перекриває ці технічні недоліки. Рекомендую всім, хто цікавиться соціальною тематикою та історією робітничого класу
