Tyson Yankaporta (b. 1973), a representative of the Apalech clan, one of the associations of the indigenous population of Australia, founded the Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab at Deakin University in Melbourne. His book is an essay about the irreconcilable contradictions between the rational and global Western worldview, on the one hand, and the traditional picture of the world, in particular the one to which the Australian Aborigines are still faithful, on the other. As a person who made the transition from the world of tradition to the world of globality, trying not to shake the foundations of the thinking he received at birth, Yankaporta makes an attempt to comprehend the indigenous tradition as a way to look at the global from the outside. Вражаюче поєднання традицій та сучасності!

Книга Тайсона Янкапорта "Розмови на піску" є неймовірно важливим внеском у розуміння взаємодії між традиційним аборигенним знанням та сучасним західним світоглядом. Автор, як представник корінного населення Австралії, майстерно розкриває глибокі протиріччя, які існують між цими двома світоглядами, і пропонує читачеві нову перспективу на глобальні проблеми. Його есе не лише інформативне, але й надихає на роздуми про те, як традиційні знання можуть допомогти вирішити сучасні виклики, з якими стикається людство. Янкапорта вміло поєднує особистий досвід з глибокими філософськими роздумами, що робить цю книгу незабутньою.
