Tyson Yankaporta (b. 1973), a representative of the Apalech clan, one of the associations of the indigenous population of Australia, founded the Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lab at Deakin University in Melbourne. His book is an essay about the irreconcilable contradictions between the rational and global Western worldview, on the one hand, and the traditional picture of the world, in particular the one to which the Australian Aborigines are still faithful, on the other.
