Book Migrant, or Peasant Life
In this large-scale play, Müller creates a rich picture of the life of German peasants after the Second World War who find themselves in the GDR. New life, new laws and new ideology make adjustments to everything. Despite the fact that the post-war years of the countries that won the Second World War are vividly illustrated, and Italy quickly reached the heyday of the legendary neo-realism, the post-war rural life of both Germanys is little known to us. It is here, in these strange, but well-known notes, events, and relationships from Soviet times, that the appeal of this play for the domestic audience lies. When it becomes especially clear that a person is a person everywhere, regardless of ideology, country and the results of the war.
