The name of Henri de Regnier (1864-1936), who enjoys worldwide and well-deserved fame, is not sufficiently appreciated in our country due to the lack of a complete literary translation of his works. A subtle master of style, an exponent of deep and acute human feelings, in his novels he describes sophisticated psychological and erotic situations, bringing to perfection the direction in literature of the Goncourt brothers. The work of Henri de Regnier attracted the attention of prominent people. It is no coincidence that his novels were translated by such famous Russian writers as Fyodor Sollogub, Max Voloshin, Vs. Rozhdestvensky.
