Alexander Markov is a professor at the Faculty of Art History of the Russian State Humanitarian University, a professor at VlSU. He gave guest lectures and conducted seminars at Columbia University, the City University of New York, the University of Lausanne, the Ruhr University Bochum, Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, the National University of Uzbekistan, the University of Turku and other universities in Russia and the world.
