Чотири повісті, що входять до збірки, майстерно переплітають елементи етнографії, романтики та пригод, створюючи багатогранну картину життя індіанців і перших білих торговців. Автор зумів передати дух часу, показати не лише боротьбу за виживання, а й глибокі людські почуття, які виникають у складних умовах. Хоча текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних недоліків, загальна якість перекладу не заважає насолоджуватися сюжетом.
