Mikhail Mikhailovich Zoshchenko (1895–1958) knew how to notice the comic in our lives. The extraordinary talent of the satirist helped him show, in his own words, “the genuine and undisguised life of genuine living people with their desires, tastes, thoughts.” He was especially good at children's characters.
