Book The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge
Michael Pahnke's novel, based on real events, tells not only and not so much about survival and revenge, but about courage and generosity. Wild West, 19th century. Hugh Glass, a hunter and pioneer, a member of General William Ashley's 1823 expedition to explore the headwaters of the Missouri, finds himself in a terrible scrape when he is attacked and seriously wounded by a grizzly bear. But this is not the most terrible test - Glass is betrayed by his friends in the detachment: frightened by the Indians, they abandon him, bleeding, and take all the provisions and weapons with them. But Glass, in spite of fate, survives. Now he has one goal - to take revenge.< /p>
