"In 1794 one English family left to Canada on purpose to settle there. Before Canada belonged to the frenchmen, but years after thirty to the mentioned time passed to the englishmen. In a that pore to transmigrate to Canada there was not that now: both a move and stay in this country were attended with large dangers. On the rivers plentiful thresholds and overfalls, there were not yet steamships| American Indians inhabited considerable part of north Canada, meeting and in south in many places| in addition, an entire country swarmed wild beasts from that some were useful to the man, but majority very dangerous. Europeans in those times it was yet not enough there, and all anymore frenchmen that were not located to the new owners of country. Indeed, for these thirty years many englishmen founding here in different places the farms were here evicted, but because frenchmen owning before a country and колонизовавшие her, owned all best earth here, then again arriving settlers forced to be settled either in north Canada or nearby her. Although earth here was not worse, and even better, than in south Canada, but distance from Quebec and Montreal, and also and from other inhabited centers was so great, that the people settled there were given to itself and quite defenceless. The some sound was therefore needed and serious reasons, that whole family decided to abandon a motherland and transmigrate to Canada. I will try to report these reasons" to the reader.
