Who knows how the life of a simple guy Bill would have turned out if not for an incident that played a cruel joke on him and brought him into the ranks of the imperial space infantry. This is where he plunges headlong into the world of incredible adventures. Circumstances force the command of the space fleet to send an untested, poorly trained recruit, along with the same green recruits, to fight with the intelligent inhabitants of other planets. More than once or twice Bill has to look death in the eye, but natural ingenuity, ingenuity, and sometimes luck allow him not only to survive, but also to become the one whom the entire inhabited cosmos knows as Bill, the Hero of the Galaxy.
