It is both a sequel and a standalone novel, which just happens to be set in the same universe and revolves around members of the Akinya family.The central character, Chiku, is totally new, although she is closely related to characters in the first book. The action involves a 220-year expedition to an extrasolar planet aboard a caravan of huge iceteroid ‘holoships’, the tension between human and artificial intelligence… and, of course, elephants.Lots of elephants.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.

Вражаюча подорож у майбутнє!

"На сталевому бриз" - це справжнє літературне відкриття, яке переносить читача в захоплюючий світ тисячолітньої експедиції в космосі. Автор вдало продовжує історію, розширюючи всесвіт, створений у "Blue Remembered Earth", і вводить нову, яскраву героїню - Чіку. Її подорож на борту величезних "холокоралів" вражає своєю масштабністю та глибиною, а напруга між людством і штучним інтелектом додає інтриги. Особливо цікаво спостерігати, як слони, ці величні істоти, стають частиною космічної експедиції, що надає історії унікальності. Хоча переклад тексту місцями може бути недосконалим, це не заважає насолоджуватися неймовірними ідеями та емоціями, які передає автор. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить наукову фантастику та хоче зануритися в захоплюючі пригоди в космосі!
