In the middle of the 13th century, the Dominican theologian Jacob of Voraginsky (Jacopo da Varazze) created the book Legend of the Saints, collecting in it tales of martyrs, ascetics of the faith and great Christian holidays. His work became one of the most popular books of the Middle Ages and was called the Golden Legend (Legenda Aurea). Already in the 14th century, the Latin text of the Golden Legend was translated into many languages of medieval Europe. The complete Russian translation of the fundamental work of Jacob Voraginsky from Latin was carried out for the first time by teachers of the Department of Ancient Languages of the Faculty of History of Moscow State University I.I. Anikyev and I.V. Kuvshinskaya.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.

Вражаюче видання класики християнської літератури!

Книга "Золоті легенди. Том I" є справжнім скарбом для всіх, хто цікавиться історією християнства та середньовічною культурою. Оповіді Якова Ворагинського про святих, мучеників та подвижників віри не лише захоплюють, але й надихають, відкриваючи перед читачем глибину духовності та моральних цінностей того часу. Переклад, хоча й здійснений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, в цілому якісний і дозволяє зберегти автентичність оригіналу. Хоча іноді трапляються некоректні фрази, це не зменшує загального враження від читання. Книга наповнена мудрістю та уроками, які залишаються актуальними й до сьогодні. Рекомендую всім, хто прагне зануритися в історію та духовність, а також тим, хто цінує класичну літературу!
