This is the fourth book in the pentalogy of the American classic writer, dedicated to the adventures of the hunter Nathaniel Bumppo, nicknamed Leatherstocking. More than thirty years passed between the adventures recounted in The Pathfinder and the cruel trials that befell Leatherstocking in The Pioneers. Another plot point of the novel is the relationship between young people - Elizabeth Temple, the daughter of a judge, and Oliver Effingham, who have to overcome many obstacles on the path to happiness.

Вражаюча подорож у світ пригод і романтики!

Четверта книга пенталогії про Натаніеля Бампо, або Шкіряного Панчоху, знову захоплює читача своїм неповторним стилем і глибоким змістом. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу часу, в якому живуть його персонажі, та їхні внутрішні переживання. Пригоди Натаніеля, сповнені небезпек і викликів, переплітаються з романтичною лінією між Елізабет і Олівером, що робить сюжет ще більш захоплюючим. Хоча в тексті зустрічаються деякі недоліки перекладу, загальна якість книги залишається високою, і це не заважає насолоджуватися історією. Книга спонукає до роздумів про цінності, любов і боротьбу за щастя, що робить її актуальною навіть у сучасному світі. Рекомендую всім, хто любить пригоди та глибокі людські стосунки!
