Samuel Dashiell Hammett (1894–1961) is one of the most popular American writers, a classic of the detective genre, the creator of a literary movement later called the “hard-boiled detective.” The works of this author are characterized by a dynamic development of the plot, which keeps the reader in constant suspense, not allowing him to be distracted from the book even for a minute. The first volume of the Works included a collection of stories united by one lone hero, a tireless crime fighter - “an opera from the Continental” . Шедевр детективного жанру, який варто прочитати кожному!

Том 1 творів Семуела Дешіла Хеммета - це справжня знахідка для всіх любителів детективів. Автор вміло створює динамічний сюжет, який тримає читача в постійній напрузі, і ви не зможете відірватися від книги, поки не дізнаєтеся, як розвиватимуться події. Герой-одинак, «опер з Континенталя», вражає своєю рішучістю та винахідливістю у боротьбі зі злочинністю. Збірка оповідань та дилогія про гангстерів «Великий наліт» і «106 тисяч за голову» демонструють майстерність Хеммета у створенні напруженої атмосфери та складних персонажів. Єдиний недолік - це деякі неточності в перекладі, але вони не заважають насолоджуватися цим літературним шедевром. Рекомендую всім, хто хоче зануритися у світ класичного детективу і відчути справжню напругу та інтригу!
