Ця книга відкриває перед читачем унікальний світ, про який часто забувають або не знають. Автор майстерно досліджує роль євнухів у китайському суспільстві, їхнє місце при дворі та вплив на політичні інтриги. Читання цієї книги - це не лише подорож у минуле, а й можливість зрозуміти, як складно і неоднозначно можуть бути людські долі. Вражає, як автор зумів зібрати різноманітні факти, літературні згадки та історичні дані, щоб створити цілісну картину.
