Історія Робена, політичного ув'язненого, який втік з острогу, і його боротьба за виживання разом із сім'єю та місцевими жителями, захоплює з перших сторінок. Книга не лише розкриває труднощі видобутку золота, але й показує глибокі людські стосунки, відданість та стійкість у важких умовах.
