The book contains three chronicles: Adam of Bremen’s “Acts of the Archbishops of the Hamburg Church”, Helmold of Bosau’s “Slavic Chronicle” and Arnold of Lübeck with the same title. Together they represent a continuous chronicle of events over more than three centuries in the same territory (in the north of present-day Germany) and are important sources on the history, culture, life of the South Baltic Slavs and their struggle against German expansion. Chronicle of Adam of Bremen (“Acts of the Archbishops ...") is being published in its entirety for the first time in a new translation, “The Slavic Chronicle” by Arnold Lubeck is being published in Russian for the first time. Важливий внесок у вивчення слов'янської історії

Книга "Бременський Адам та ін. Слов'янські хроніки" є справжнім скарбом для всіх, хто цікавиться історією та культурою слов'янських народів. Зібрані в ній три хроніки надають унікальну можливість зануритися в події, що відбувалися на території північної Німеччини протягом більше трьох століть. Хроніки Адама Бременського, Гельмольда та Арнольда Любекського відкривають перед читачем нові горизонти розуміння слов'янської боротьби проти німецької експансії, їх побуту та культури. Я особливо вражений якістю перекладу, хоча й були деякі незначні недоліки, які не заважають загальному сприйняттю тексту. Ця книга стане незамінним джерелом для студентів, науковців та всіх, хто прагне глибше зрозуміти історію слов'ян. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує якісну історичну літературу!
