The novel “Pendulum” is based on the real story of the murder of a 13-year-old girl, Sarah Becker, in August 1883 in the center of St. Petersburg, at house No. 57 on Nevsky Prospekt. The crime and its subsequent investigation aroused great interest among contemporaries and the press. The extraordinary circumstances of this murder were reflected in the textbooks of psychiatry and criminology of the pre-revolutionary era. In 2006, the Krylov publishing house released an abridged version of the novel entitled “The Diamond Pendulum.”

Глибока та тривожна історія, що залишає слід у душі

Роман «Маятник» вражає своєю глибиною та емоційною напругою, адже він заснований на реальних подіях, які потрясли Санкт-Петербург у 1883 році. Автор майстерно відтворює атмосферу того часу, занурюючи читача в деталі розслідування вбивства 13-річної дівчинки Сарри Беккер. Книга не лише розкриває обставини злочину, але й порушує важливі питання про людську природу, моральність та наслідки вчинків. Хоча текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних неточностей, це не заважає загальному сприйняттю твору. «Маятник» – це не просто кримінальна історія, а глибоке дослідження психіки людей, які опинилися в епіцентрі трагедії. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цінує літературу, що викликає роздуми та емоції!
