The publication represents the second part of a workshop prepared as part of the educational and methodological complex “Foreign Literature of the 18th Century”, developed by employees of the Department of History of Foreign Literatures of St. Petersburg State University. It includes fragments of works by leading experts on Western European and American literature of the 18th century, equipped with test tasks. The materials in the anthology can serve as an additional source of information about the works of English, French, Italian, American and German writers of the 18th century. and are intended both for independent preparation of undergraduate and graduate students, and for use during practical classes under the guidance of a teacher. Важливе джерело знань для студентів та викладачів

Ця хрестоматія є справжнім подарунком для всіх, хто цікавиться зарубіжною літературою XVIII століття. Видання містить ретельно відібрані фрагменти робіт видатних авторів, що дозволяє читачеві отримати уявлення про різноманітність літературних стилів та течій того часу. Контрольні завдання, які супроводжують тексти, допомагають глибше осмислити прочитане і підготуватися до практичних занять. Хоча переклад текстів здійснено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних помилок, загальна якість видання все ж вражає. Це видання стане незамінним помічником для студентів бакалаврату та магістратури, а також для всіх, хто прагне розширити свої знання про зарубіжну літературу. Рекомендую всім, хто навчається за напрямами «Філологія» та «Лінгвістика»!
