And this world fell upon her in the face of the French Revolution, declared her the center of all vices and threw her under the knife of the guillotine... A historical novel is rarely truthful. It is precisely these exceptions that include the work of Zweig, a thoughtful, honest historian, subtle psychologist and excellent storyteller.

Вражаюча історія, що відкриває нові грані королівської долі

Роман "Марія Антуанетта" став для мене справжнім відкриттям. Цвейг майстерно передає атмосферу епохи, в якій жила королева, і показує, як її безтурботне життя в розкоші та задоволеннях стало контрастом до жахів, що відбувалися за межами палацу. Автор вдало підкреслює психологічний портрет Марії Антуанетти, її наївність і довірливість, які врешті-решт стали причинами її трагедії. Читання цього роману стало для мене не лише захоплюючим, але й повчальним досвідом, адже він змушує задуматися про ціну влади, відповідальності та людських стосунків. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які, на жаль, іноді трапляються, загальний зміст і емоційна глибина твору залишаються незмінними. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, психологією та людськими дольками, адже вона відкриває нові горизонти розуміння минулого.
