Written in 1975, the memoirs consist of two parts: the first half is about the playwright’s personal life and his love affairs; the second is about creativity and torment. As the author himself admits, the book is written in the form of a “flow of free associations” and is a “catharsis of the Puritan feeling of guilt.” The book is written about those things and in a language that cannot but evoke admiration and understanding of both the depth of the writer’s personality and his skill.

Вражаюче занурення у світ творчості та особистих переживань!

Ця книга — справжнє відкриття для всіх, хто цінує літературу та глибокі роздуми про життя. Мемуари драматурга, написані у 1975 році, пропонують читачеві унікальний погляд на його особисте життя, любовні пригоди та творчі муки. Структура у вигляді «потоку вільних асоціацій» надає тексту особливого шарму, дозволяючи читачеві відчути емоції та переживання автора на глибшому рівні. Хоча переклад з мови оригіналу здійснено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, загалом він досить якісний і не заважає сприйняттю тексту. Звісно, іноді зустрічаються некоректні фрази, але це не зменшує цінності самої книги. Я рекомендую її всім, хто хоче зрозуміти, як творчість може взаємодіяти з особистим життям, і хто готовий до глибоких роздумів про почуття провини та самовираження.
