
Book One hundred poems by one hundred poets
"One Hundred Poems of a Hundred Poets" is a selection - an anthology of classical tanka, compiled in Japan in the first half of the 13th century by the famous poet and philosopher Fujiwara no Teika and including, along with the masterpieces of the greatest Japanese poets of the 8th-13th centuries, also poems by little-known poets medieval Japan. The tanka translations are provided with detailed historical, bibliographic and literary comments. The book is intended for both specialists - orientalists, and the general reader.
