An interesting and original version of the classic biblical story The novel “Judith” by the Croatian writer Miro Gavran (translated by Natalia Vaganova) is dedicated not so much to the heroic deed of the biblical Judith, who saved Jerusalem from the yoke of the Babylonian commander Holofernes, but to the love of an ordinary woman, a love that fell only once for her entire 105-year, pious life.
