Book Lark
Jean Anouilh (June 23, 1910 - October 3, 1987) - playwright, screenwriter, director. One of the creators of the so-called “intellectual drama”. The most popular plays - "Eurydice", "Antigone", "Lark" - are built on the author's interpretation of famous ancient and medieval plots, receiving new allegorical overtones. Although this technique was widely used by both Anouilh's predecessors (B. Shaw) and his contemporaries (J.-P. Sartre), until the end of the 1950s Anouilh remained the central figure of French drama, only later giving way to the theater of the absurd.
