RENIER, Henri François Joseph de [pseudo. — Hugues Vignix; 28.XII. 1864, On-fleurs (Calvados department), - 23. V. 1936, Paris] - French. poet. Since 1911 - member of Franz. academy. He came from an impoverished noble family. He studied at a Paris college. From ser. 80s R. entered the circle of young writers who formed the school of symbolism, was a regular at the “lit. Tuesdays” by the school leader S. Mallarmé, who influenced him. For 10 years he appeared in print as a poet; subsequently he also published novels, stories, and criticism. articles, essays.
