St. Gregory the Theologian, Archbishop of Constantinople, entered the history of the Orthodox Church as the greatest creator of Christian literature. The writings of St. Gregory - words, letters, verses and prayers - show his lofty desire to be a preacher worthy of the truth of Christ. The gift of the word was sent down to him, and the saint wanted to bring it as a gift to God - the Word: “This gift I offer to my God, this gift I dedicate to Him: - this is the one thing that remains with me and what I am rich in | everything else I gave up at the commandment of the Spirit | everything that he had, he exchanged for a precious pearl. I own the word only, as a servant of the Word | I would never voluntarily want to neglect this wealth, I respect it, cherish it, console myself with it more than others console themselves with all the treasures of the world. The book "Poems of St. Gregory the Theologian" will initiate the study of the great heritage of the universal father and teacher.
