Автор майстерно створює напружену атмосферу, де кожна деталь, від замкнених дверей до таємничих зникнень, підсилює відчуття тривоги та загадки. Вивиан, тітка Грейс, викликає багато питань, і читач разом з головною героїнею намагається розгадати її таємниці. Якість перекладу, хоча й має деякі недоліки, не заважає загальному сприйняттю книги.
