Автор вміло розкриває міф про Буковскі, показуючи, що за брутальним стилем і скандальною репутацією ховається глибока чутливість і розуміння людської природи. Книга наповнена блискучими цитатами та аналізами, які змушують задуматися про місце Буковскі в американській літературі та його вплив на сучасну культуру. Хоча переклад в деяких моментах може бути недосконалим, це не зменшує загальної цінності книги.
