Ренат Меулетович Асейнов майстерно об'єднує наукові дослідження, розкриваючи різноманітні аспекти політичного, соціального та культурного життя Бургундії. Його аналіз історичної думки, що формувалася під впливом придворних хроністів, дозволяє читачеві глибше зрозуміти, як формувалися уявлення про владу та образ державця в той час. Книга також прекрасно ілюструє боротьбу між придворними угрупуваннями за вплив, що надає тексту динаміки та актуальності. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, загальна якість видання вражає.
