The fourth volume of The History of the British Navy is dedicated to the events of the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714), when large-scale hostilities by England, France, Holland and Spain, using grandiose fleets and squadrons, swept the coastal waters of Britain, the Mediterranean Sea , Caribbean Islands and coast of Canada. For the cover design, a fragment of a painting by the artist Jean Guden was used.

Вражаюча хроніка морських битв та стратегій!

Четвертий том «Історії британського флоту» є справжнім шедевром для всіх, хто цікавиться військовою історією та морськими пригодами. Автор детально описує події «Війни за іспанську спадщину», що дозволяє читачеві зануритися в епоху, коли флот був основою могутності держав. Книга не лише розкриває масштабні битви між Англією, Францією, Голландією та Іспанією, але й показує, як ці конфлікти вплинули на розвиток морської стратегії та тактики. Окремо варто відзначити якість перекладу, хоча в деяких місцях є незначні недоліки, проте це не зменшує загальної цінності книги. Ілюстрації, зокрема фрагмент картини Жана Гюдена на обкладинці, додають естетичної привабливості виданню. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче глибше зрозуміти історію британського флоту та його роль у світовій політиці!
