The full text of the notes of the military doctor of the Russian Imperial Army, Privy Councilor V.P. Kravkov, about the First World War, an abridged version of which was published in 2014, is published for the first time. This is a unique monument of the era, bringing to the reader the living voice of a direct participant in military events. The author had a chance to witness the battles of the Battle of Galicia in 1914, the August operation of 1915, the strategic retreat of Russian troops in the summer - autumn of 1915, the battles near Riga in the spring and summer of 1916 and the unsuccessful June offensive of 1917 on the South-Western Front. On the pages of the book there are many previously unknown details of significant historical events, gleaned by the author from personal conversations with the Grand Dukes, military leaders of the Russian army, public figures, officers and soldiers. The text is accompanied by a detailed scientific commentary.
