The sermons collected in this book were first published during the lifetime of Archimandrite John (Krestyankin) and went through many reprints. This reading is truly soulful, it provides comprehensive knowledge about church events, spiritual consolation and resolution of perplexities, because the words of Father John are supported by deep ascetic experience. And at the same time, like the words of our contemporary, they are close and understandable. In this edition, some of the sermons are verified with currently available audio recordings of Father’s sermons. This was done in order to give the reader the opportunity to hear the unique intonation of the Elder.
