The Spiritual Man is a translation of the only major work Brother Watchman Nee himself ever wrote. Some time after the first publication of this book in Chinese, Brother Nee suggested that it should not be reprinted for the reason that it represented “perfect”, i.e. an exhaustive exposition of the subject, and he fears lest it turn into a mere manual of principles, instead of leading people also to personal experience. But in view of the urgent need among the children of God of our day for guidance in matters of spiritual life and warfare, and knowing that Brother Nee is always open to the ways and plans of God, and as always more than ready to serve God’s people with the gifts with which the Lord has bestowed upon him, we concluded that he would undoubtedly allow this work to spread among believers in translation into other languages, which is the consequence of this translation.
