The book is a collection of articles, essays and reflections dedicated to Ingmar Bergman, whose centenary of birth the world celebrated in 2018. The collection is based on materials from the thirteenth issue of the “Seance” magazine, “Memory of Meaning” (the authors of the concept are Lyubov Arkus, Andrey Plakhov), which was published in the summer of 1996. The authors of that publication set themselves a utopian task - not just to see Bergman and the artistic world he created as an integral phenomenon, but also to recognize its origins, and also to make one feel the influence that Bergman has on the world and art. Most of the materials written twenty years ago have retained their relevance and are included in the book without changes. In addition to these already classic texts, the collection includes several voluminous new articles - clarifying touches to the portrait.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.
