Вражаюча комбінація детективу та соціальної драми!

Книга "Перша жертва" вразила мене своєю глибиною та реалістичністю. Автор майстерно поєднує елементи кримінального роману з соціальною тематикою, порушуючи важливі питання про імміграцію, расизм і людську жорстокість. Персонажі, зокрема Болдт, який намагається знайти баланс між своєю пристрастю до музики та фінансовими труднощами, виглядають дуже реалістично і зрозуміло. Я особливо ціную, як автор зумів створити напружену атмосферу, що тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Розслідування вбивств нелегальних іммігранток, яке веде Стіві МакНіл, додає сюжету динаміки та інтриги. Хоча в тексті є деякі недоліки в перекладі, це не заважає насолоджуватися історією. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить глибокі та емоційні детективи!
