The North-West publishing house continues the publication of undeservedly forgotten (both in Russia and in America) works of the remarkable American science fiction writer Henry Kuttner (1915–1958), begun by the previous Kuttner volume in the series, “Fury.” The proposed book includes the novels “Valley of Flame” (1946), “Beyond the Earthly Gates” (1949), a cycle of short stories, later combined into the novel “Mutant” (1953), and also continued the famous Kuttner series about Hogben. Some works were written by G. Kuttner in collaboration with Catherine Moore, but which ones have not yet been reliably established. The volume ends with the last story published during the author’s lifetime, “The Way of the Cross Through the Ages.” With the exception of a few stories, all works in Russian are published for the first time.

The book’s text has been translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence system. In most cases, the translation is accurate and clear, but occasionally there may be incorrect phrasing or individual words left untranslated.

Неперевершений світ Генрі Каттнера

Книга «Долина Полум'я» - це справжнє відкриття для всіх шанувальників наукової фантастики. Генрі Каттнер, якого часто забувають, демонструє свій неймовірний талант у створенні захоплюючих світів та персонажів. Ця збірка творів не лише відновлює забуті шедеври, але й занурює читача в епоху, коли фантастика тільки починала розкривати свої горизонти. Романи та оповідання, що увійшли до збірки, вражають своєю оригінальністю та глибиною думки. В особливості варто відзначити «Долину Полум'я», де автор майстерно поєднує елементи пригоди, драми та філософських роздумів. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, загальна якість видання та самі твори компенсують ці незначні недоліки. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче зануритися в класичну фантастику та відкрити для себе нові горизонти літератури!
