Ця книга є справжнім шедевром наукової журналістики, яка здатна зацікавити навіть тих, хто не є експертом у біології. Автор зумів доступно і зрозуміло пояснити складні концепції еволюції, використовуючи при цьому свій характерний гумор та живу мову. Читач отримує не лише інформацію про ідеї Чарльза Дарвіна, а й розуміння контексту, в якому ці ідеї виникли. Книга спонукає до роздумів про наше місце у природі та етичні питання, пов'язані з еволюцією. Хоча переклад тексту в деяких місцях може бути не зовсім ідеальним, це не заважає загальному сприйняттю та насолоді від читання.
