Ця книга - справжнє відкриття для всіх шанувальників короткої прози! Автор майстерно поєднує різноманітні історії, кожна з яких розкриває глибокі аспекти людської природи та стосунків. Протягом понад 40 років письменницької кар'єри він створив галерею антигероїв, які змушують задуматися про моральність, вибір і наслідки своїх дій. Історії, такі як самотній потерпілий на безлюдному острові, який вчиняє вбивство, або шахрай, що знаходить релігію, вражають своєю глибиною та іронією. Хоча деякі фрази в перекладі можуть бути не зовсім коректними, це не зменшує загального враження від читання.
