Автор вдало досліджує жанрову природу твору, пропонуючи читачеві новий погляд на класичний текст. Цикл повістей, що складає цю книгу, дозволяє глибше зрозуміти персонажів і їхні внутрішні конфлікти, а також показує, як вони взаємодіють один з одним у різних ситуаціях. Діалогічні зв'язки між компонентами циклу надають твору цілісності, що робить його ще більш захоплюючим для читання.
