“Half a century of love” - that’s what Voiskunsky called his Main Book, many years of work. The author's biography unfolds like a memoir novel from the late 30s to the late 80s. Here are Baku school youth, and pictures of pre-war Leningrad, and - close-up - the war in the Baltic, the defense of the Hanko Peninsula, the blockade days and nights of Kronstadt. There are many events in the life of the country. The author was lucky to survive, and he seems to be conducting a dialogue with his own fate. And it is tightly intertwined with the fate of a girl from a parallel class, to whom Voiskunsky declared his love at the school prom. Their relationship, their half-century-long love, forms the basis of the plot of this memoir novel.

Неперевершене поєднання історії та особистих переживань

«Півстоліття кохання» - це не просто мемуарний роман, а справжня подорож у часі, що охоплює важливі моменти в історії нашої країни та особисте життя автора. Войскунський майстерно передає атмосферу епохи, відображаючи не лише свої спогади, а й переживання людей, які оточували його. Читач відчуває, як він разом із героєм проходить через всі випробування війни, блокади та особистих втрат. Стосунки автора з дівчиною, якій він освідчився на випускному вечорі, стають справжнім символом вічного кохання, що витримало випробування часом. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має деякі недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися глибокими емоціями, які передає автор.
