Топорова про його сучасників, таких як Бродський та Собчак, створюють унікальну панораму епохи, що дозволяє читачеві заглибитися в атмосферу тих часів. Автор зумів передати не лише факти, але й емоції, переживання та думки, які формували культурний контекст того часу. Його дотепність і ерудиція роблять текст легким для сприйняття, навіть якщо мова йдеться про складні теми.
