This book is about what brings together the artistic culture of Bohemia and Hungary, Austria, Poland and Russia in the 15th–16th centuries. Marina Dmitrieva is an art historian who has been working at the Research Center for the History and Culture of East-Central Europe (Leipzig) since 1996 and teaches at the University of Leipzig.

Книга "Італія у Сарматії" є справжнім відкриттям для всіх, хто цікавиться історією мистецтв та культурними взаємозв'язками між країнами Центральної та Східної Європи. Автор, Марина Дмитрієва, майстерно досліджує вплив італійських архітекторів і скульпторів на розвиток художньої культури Богемії, Угорщини, Австрії, Польщі та Росії в XV–XVI століттях. Читачі отримують можливість зануритися в захоплюючий світ, де італійські майстри не лише будували величні замки, але й впливали на формування міст і святкових традицій. Книга написана зрозумілою мовою, а також містить багато ілюстрацій, що допомагають краще усвідомити описувані процеси.
