Стивен Кінг знову доводить, що він є одним з найкращих авторів у світі, створюючи атмосферу напруги та страху, яка пронизує кожну сторінку. Історія про детектива Майкла Холлоуея, який намагається розкрити таємницю зникнення мешканців маленького містечка, вражає своєю глибиною та емоційною напругою. Читачі разом з героєм переживають його страхи, сумніви та боротьбу з невидимим злом, яке загрожує всім. Кінг майстерно грає зі страхами людини, змушуючи задуматися про те, що може ховатися під поверхнею звичайного життя.
