Emilio Salgari (1862–1911) is a celebrated writer, whom his contemporaries called the “Italian Jules Verne,” who wrote about two hundred novels and short stories. It seems that there is no continent on which the characters of his works would not walk, there are no seas and oceans on which his noble corsairs and filibusters would not sail. This edition includes three novels from the so-called African cycle, and two of them are “ Robbers of the Sahara" and "Robbers of Er-Rif" are published in Russian for the first time. In these novels, exciting adventures in the best traditions of Emilio Salgari take place in North Africa, in the lands of ruthless bandits, religious fanatics and exotic beauties. The works are accompanied by illustrations by famous Italian artists Gennaro D'Amato and Alberto della Valle.
