Book Coward
The story “The Coward” by Rafael Sabatini (1875-1950) was first published in Pearson's Magazine (USA) in May 1900. “The Coward is a powerful story from the time of the Terror, when French aristocrats were killed by the dozens every day. The laws introduced by the aristocrats were cruel, but the laws of the revolutionaries were even more merciless, so it is not at all surprising that in the end their leaders themselves were forced to climb onto the shameful cart and go under the knife. “Voice” (Hobart, Tasmania, 1931- 1953), Saturday, January 30, 1937.
