Автор майстерно відтворює атмосферу того часу, описуючи не лише політичні інтриги, але й людські драми, які відбувалися на фоні цих подій. Сюжет захоплює з перших сторінок, а динаміка подій тримає в напрузі до самого кінця. Особливо вражає те, як Лузан зумів поєднати елементи шпигунського трилера з реаліями повсякденного життя в Росії.
