On February 15, 1945, George Orwell, as a war correspondent, went to Germany to tell as an eyewitness about life in a destroyed Europe. Here for the first time are collected his vivid and profound notes from the forties about the world war, its cost and consequences. War has been the focus of Orwell's radio and newspaper appearances since his participation in the battles with the Francoists in Spain in 1936-1937. In 1944, the house in which Orwell lived with his family was destroyed by German bombs. The writer had many reasons for his hatred of his opponents. But in his journalistic works, he first of all thinks about the future and is looking for a way out for all people from the bloody dead ends of total war and disunity. This book includes 25 works by Orwell, including the famous articles “On Revenge Murders”, “Revenge is disgusting” and review of Hitler's Mein Kampf.
